Carried in My Heart

Part Three: Between Silence and Words

Words That Helped, Words That Hurt

Grief can be lonely in an unexpected way: the people around you may fall silent, say something clumsy, or seem to disappear altogether, not because they don't care, but because loss makes many people uncomfortable and unsure. This can leave you feeling more isolated in your grief than the loss itself.

Think of things people have said to you since your loss. What helped, even a little? What hurt, even unintentionally?

In the journal this prompt has 12 lines. Here, take as many as you need.
